Privacy Policy

Effective: June 16, 2026 · Last updated: August 24, 2026 · App: PlacePad (provider: Fablelab)

In short — Your content is stored on your device. Only if you turn on the optional sync feature is it also stored in your own cloud account (iCloud or Google Drive). There is no developer server, and Fablelab collects nothing.

1. Information we collect

PlacePad has no sign‑up and no accounts, and does not collect personal information. The notes, handwriting, drawings, photos, to‑dos and location tags you create are all kept only in your device's local storage; the provider (Fablelab) does not read, collect or transmit their contents.

2. Location

To show where a note was created and to surface nearby notes, the app reads your device's location only with your permission. The location value is stored only on your device and is never transmitted or kept on any server. You can use the app's core features even if you deny location permission.

3. Photos & camera

The app may access your photos and camera to add images to notes or to save a polaroid card to your photo library. Only the photos you choose are stored on your device, and they are not transmitted anywhere.

4. Ads, analytics & third parties

PlacePad shows no ads and uses no analytics or tracking tools. No data is provided or sold to any third party.

5. Data retention & deletion

All data is stored on your device. Deleting the app deletes your data with it. Deleting a notebook or page within the app also cleans up the related photo files. Because nothing is kept on a server, you have full control over your data.

6. Children's privacy

PlacePad is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information at all, it does not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Sync across your devices (optional)

If you turn on Sync in Settings (off by default), your content is stored in your own cloud account — an app-dedicated area of iCloud (your Apple Account) or Google Drive (your Google account) — and merged with your other devices. The data lives only in your account: there is no Fablelab server, and Fablelab cannot access it.

When connecting Google Drive, your account identifier (such as your email) is used solely to authenticate access to your own Drive; it is not sent to or stored by Fablelab. If you turn sync off, the app stores data on your device only, and you can delete any remaining cloud copy yourself from your iCloud or Google Drive management pages.
